Ramadan, a month long fasting period before the celebrations
Ramadan, a period of abstinence observed by Muslim across many nations
For Muslims, it is a time to reflect on ones actions and deeds throughout the year
It is a time to ask for forgiveness as the festive season draws near
Ramadan, an annual tradition of the Hari Raya Puasa festival
Bringing people closer together in cities all over the world
The sighting of the moon to determine when Hari Raya Puasa starts
The sighting of the moon, observed with sincere feelings from the heart
The sighting of the moon filled with excitement and joy
The sheer delight on every Muslim girl and boy
The sighting of the moon, another tradition of the Hari Raya Puasa festival
Bringing people closer together in cities all over the world
The slaughtering of sheep that is a yearly affair
The slaughtering of sheep distributed to the poor because Muslims care
The slaughtering of sheep that reinforces goodwill to all mankind

Oh, it’s such a beautiful sight!

The sarong kebaya
What a picture to see as they welcome Hari Raya
The delicious meals prepared by Muslims for all races
The graciousness shown on the hosts faces
“Selamat Hari Raya Puasa to the Muslim community
May you be blessed with success, prosperity and good health
May you continue to bond closer with all races in Singapore; the “Lion City”
The Hari Raya Puasa traditions, truly a unique festival
